It is estimated that around 128,000 people with dementia live in Switzerland. In most cases, family members play a central role in the care and care of the person with dementia.iSupport is an online training and support program designed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and dedicated to carers for a person with dementia. The University of Italian Switzerland (USI) has developed the website and this iSupport application adapting it to the Swiss Ticino context, with the contribution of the Department of Health and Sociality of the Canton of Ticino (DSS) and Pro Senectute and thanks to the collaboration of Alzheimer Ticino and of the Professional University School of Italian Switzerland (SUPSI).The objectives of the program are to promote knowledge about dementia and to help manage the challenges related to care, so as to improve the quality of life of those who care and those who are cared for. The contents of the program are divided into five modules. Each module is divided into chapters dealing with the following areas: knowledge of dementia and its symptoms; relationship with the person with dementia; welfare of the caring family member; daily care and management of behavioral and mood disorders.All chapters are divided into theoretical parts, exercises, examples and problem-solving techniques and provide the opportunity to interact with other users enrolled in the program.
